RVA-818 X-LAY is the player craft in RayForce. It is also briefly seen in RayCrisis' "good" ending which depicts the X-LAY taking off from its mothership.
Summary[]
The RVA-818 is an experimental starfighter equipped with the Cybernetics Link System and Lock-on Laser system. It has proven itself to be an exceptional machine during its testing phase, having completed its flight tests flawlessly. However due to the unstable nature of the Cybernetics Link System, during a test flight the spacecraft along its test pilot went out of control before it was eventually self destructed.
Development had been indefinitely halted in the aftermath of the accident, whileh two surviving prototypes were sealed. However, following the failure of Operation Meteor, the two crafts have been brought back to operational status and are being deployed as the main force in Operation RayForce.

RayForce DLC for DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours
On March 18, 2016, Taito released the Taito DLC Pack for Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviors, which adds three new playable fighters from classic Taito titles; Night Striker's Inter Gray, Metal Black's CF-345 Black Fly and Rayforce's RVA-818 X-LAY.
The X-LAY has its signature "lock-on Laser" replacing the default burst attack, the lock-on reticle is now twice as large as the craft itself and the "lock-on Laser" is now rapid firing and allows up to 16 targets to be locked with maximum multiplier potential up to x128 by destroying last 16 enemies in a formation simultaneously. However, the lock-on laser is unable to lock on targets in the foreground/background.
X-LAY retains the traditional Darius power up layout minus the green power up as it lacks a missile weapon. The red power up item visually resembles red crystal power up.
